We have received very important information about the Pyla Dune, and about the practice of Free Flight. Over authorised and prohibited flying areas, take-off and landing areas. Here’s a summary of it.
Natural Area
The Pyla Dune and the adjacent areas are natural reserves of flora and fauna (Perpetua Silvestre, Reeds, migratory birds,…), especially sensitive to footprints and human disturbance.
Paragliding and hang gliding are allowed as long as they respect the law and the environment.
Authorized Flight Zones:
From 15 June to 15 September: The flight area begins 200 m south of the “Corniche” emergency post and ends 50 m north of the “Petit Nice” bathing area.
Forbidden Flight Zones
Takeoffs, maneuvers, flight, landing:
The residential and bathing area Corniche (200 m south of the aid station).
Takeoff and Landing Areas
The Gaillouneys Sector includes both the northern and western slopes. The main access to these areas is via the beach or via the road from the “Petit Nice” car park.
You fly under your responsibility in this area, whatever the conditions and equipment used. In the event of an accident, whether it affects you or third parties, the owners of the land or the managers of the area will in no case be held liable.
Regardless of your flight level, please respect:
- Flight rules (altitude limits, hours, restricted areas, etc.)
- Access to the area and flight and landing areas
- Respect for other visitors
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory
- Obligatory to carry civil liability flight insurance
