The deadline for joining the AVLE group policy in 2020 has expired
In the following form you will be able to register as a Member with AVLE Insurance for the year 2020. Any Free Flight Pilot can register as an AVLE Associate, you just have to want to be part of this adventure. The deadline to join the AVLE Collective Policy 2020, expires on March 31st, 2020. No registrations will be accepted after this date if you join the Collective Policy. To join the Group Policy, you must be an AVLE member at the time.
You must be aware that the registration is only for the current year, in no case is it for calendar years. So if you register in January or March, your registration as an associate will end on December 31 of the current year. Regardless of the date on which you register. In December, from the start of the membership renewal campaign, all formalised registrations are understood to be for the following year.
We work with an Insurance Brokerage Firm, which works hard every year so that we can continue to have a Collective Insurance Policy. We will ask you to give your consent, if you wish, so that they can offer you, during the year of life of the policy, some special proposal for you. We repeat, this possibility is optional, our collaborator commits not to make Spam and only contact in case we have an unbeatable offer for you as a member of AVLE.
How is it logical that those of you who have been partners last year are asking yourselves what AVLE has done this year that is ending. In the last AVLE Assembly held on December 14th we gave an account of everything we have done. I summarize what we presented in the Assembly in more detail:
- Follow-up of the accidents that occurred in 2019
- Organization and management of the EHPU Annual Assembly in Madrid, Spain.
- Active participation in all matters concerning EHPU.
- Elaboration, distribution, financing and presentation of Allegations to the PRUG of the Guadarrama, in Segovia and Madrid.
- Elaboration, financing and presentation of contentious-administrative appeals and lawsuits to the PRUG of the Guadarrama National Park in Segovia.
- Presentation of allegations to the Picos de Europa National Park in triplicate, in the three communities that manage it.
- Financing, elaboration and distribution of the legal report related to the PRUG of the Guadarrama, applicable to any other administrative procedure of flight limitation.
- Statutory changes for the greater definition and concretion of the objectives of our Association.
- Accomplishment of managements so that the national team of paragliding could participate with the insurance of the French Federation, since the Spanish Federation did not cover them. The pilots finally declined the offer.
- Financing of the repair costs of the weather station in Caracenilla.
- Help to finance the book “Paragliding with schoolchildren”, by Roberto Machín.
In short, we have invested our efforts and the 2019 fees in the defense of free flight and try to avoid the restrictions to our sport promoted from Administrations that do not take into account our reality, and at the same time combat the neglect and forgetfulness of the “Federations” that in theory should defend our interests. We have had to act judicially and present ourselves as an interested party in the legal proceedings. All this work, effort and money invested in the PRUG of Guadarrama we hope that it will serve as much for this as for others that may begin to appear throughout the territory.
This year is the definitive one, we are seriously going for a Free Flight Federation. We are waiting for your support.

After filling out the form, what happens?
An automatic email is sent when the registration form is completed.

What’s in that first automatic email?
The automatic email sent after filling out the registration form has two purposes:
- to send the data entered in the form for your review,
- to give you payment instructions.
I didn’t get the automatic mail...
Let’s not get nervous, the automatic mail should be sent no later than five minutes after filling out the registration form. Sometimes that mail can go directly to the Spam or Junk mail folder of your mail server. We advise you to search the mail by subject and sender. You will probably find it in that folder. If your mail is Gmail, please read the Gmail section of this FAQ.
It’s possible that for technical reasons, your mail wasn’t sent, but there may be so many requests to the server that your mail doesn’t go out correctly. If you have not received it, please write to “socios@avle.org” and tell us that you have not received the mail.
I’ve already paid the fee, now what?
Thank you very much for paying the fee, we always recommend to send to “socios@avle.org” a proof of the transfer. This way we can shorten the deadlines, the banks play with the transfers and it can take up to 72 hours for them to appear in our account.
Once we have proof of payment, we send the member’s details to the Insurance Company. They process the final discharge. We promise to notify you by email of this procedure twenty-four hours after it is done. The reason for this is simple, we give the insurance company the opportunity to check the data and see if there is anything that does not fit. For example, an incorrect VAT number.

The sending is done from a mass mailing application. For that reason it can also be treated by your mail server as Spam or Unwanted Mail. The best thing is to mark the emails from AVLE as desired or not Spam. If you do not find in your inbox this mail, make a search by subject or sender. If you still can’t find it, please contact us at “socios@avle.org”. If your mail is Gmail, go to their section in this FAQ.
Okay, but how long does it take you guys to go through all this trouble
Taking into account holidays and weekends, we tell you how we do it in general. During the second fortnight of December, when we open the deadline, and the month of January, we send daily the discharges to the insurance company. If nothing unexpected happens, it will take us 48 hours to send you the notification of the transfer. For example, if you do not send a receipt, and the transfer takes three days to appear, we will leave in five days, always working days. Discharges are sent at 13:30
Since February and March, we only send discharges on Tuesdays and Thursdays, also at 13:30. We also send the notice of discharge from AVLE twenty-four hours after sending it to the insurance company.
Content of the registration email
In the mail of discharge in AVLE, we send you the keys of access to the private area of partners. In this area you have the membership card to download it in PDF. At the suggestion of an associate, from this year we have also provided a back of the card. At the same time in this mail we tell you something else and ask you to familiarize yourself with the protocol of claims this year. It changes a little from previous years.
Gmail vs. AVLE mail
It’s completely proven that Gmail doesn’t treat us very well… Well it doesn’t really treat our emails well. Rare is the occasion when it puts them in our inbox. It usually sends them to other “folders” that Gmail has by default. Folders like ‘Social’, ‘Notifications’, ‘Promotions’ or ‘Forums’. And when not to the Spam folder.
Luckily, Gmail has a good search engine, and by searching by subject or sender you can easily locate them. The subject is telling Gmail that the mail is not from that folder to which it sends our emails, how? You point to the square on the left and the option appears on the toolbar, for example “Not social”.
